Join us on our quest for ALL THE COMICS!
Having grown up watching He-Man and the Masters of the Universe I’ve been keeping my eye on the re-boot of this comic series. The re-launch appeared to be a more adult minded, but not graphic, telling of the exploits of Prince Adam and Eternia. A concept that is very appealing to both adult me and child me. My pull box grew one size that day.
While new readers can expect to jump right in without difficulty, there is a certain amount of prior knowledge of characters that can aid in your reading experience. The end of the issue has a big reveal that would go under the radar for a new reader if it wasn’t for the tagline stating the name of the next issue. It may be a minor issue but I think the series could benefit from treating all readers as new to the Masters of the Universe, universe.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a fun read. Keith Giffen and Pop Mhan make a great MotU team and their action panels throw you in the middle of the action/story. I’m sure I won’t be the first or last to comment on how enjoyable it was to get a trip down memory lane. Both child and adult me enjoyed it.
